Microfiber Duvet

1. Shell Fabric (Fabric Specifications)

The “Shell” is the outer fabric that holds the filling.

• Material: 100% Polyester Microfiber.

• Thread Count (TC): Refers to the density.

  • Example: 75D/144F (Denier/Filaments) or 200TC – 400TC.

• Fabric Weight: Usually measured in GSM.

  • Common: 75 GSM to 120 GSM.

• Finish/Feel:

  • Double Brushed: For a soft, peach-skin hand feel.

  • Embossed: With patterns like stripes or checks.

  • Disperse Printed: For high color fastness.

2. Filling (The Interior)

• Material Type: 100% Polyester Hollow Fiber / Down Alternative.

• Fiber Grade:

  • 3D/7D/15D: (Denier) Lower numbers (3D) are finer and softer; higher numbers (15D) provide more loft and support.

  • Siliconized: Fibers coated in silicone to prevent clumping and increase silkiness.

• Filling Weight: This determines the warmth level (Seasonality).

  • Lightweight (Summer): 100–150 GSM.

  • All-Season: 250–350 GSM.

  • Winter Weight: 400–600+ GSM.

3. Construction & Craftsmanship (Workmanship)

These details ensure the filling stays in place after washing.

• Stitching Pattern:

  • Box Stitch / Baffle Box: Squares sewn through both layers to prevent shifting.

  • Diamond Stitch: Diamond-shaped quilting.

• Edge Finish:

  • Piping: Decorative corded edge.

  • Double Needle Stitching: For increased seam strength.

• Corner Loops: 4 or 8 loops to secure the duvet inside a duvet cover.
